The Italian city of Venice is hosting the 56th International Art Exhibition until November 22, which this year presents a new project by Albert Serra, Catalonia in Venice. SINGULARITY, curated by Chus Martínez and produced by the Institut Ramon Llull.

Albert Serra: Divine Visionaries and Holy Fools at Tate Modern
Tate Modern presents the first major survey in the UK of maverick filmmaker Albert Serra, a powerful and unique voice in contemporary cinema. Serra’s vivid and subversive work draws on the history of literature and art. The Albert Serra season will include ‘Singularity’, a unique preview of his in-development project commissioned by the Institut Ramon Llull for the Catalan participation at the forthcoming 56th Venice Art Biennale.

Albert Serra puts the finishing touches to the filming of Singularity at PLANTA Sorigué
The Catalan filmmaker has today begun shooting his new film Singularity at the Masia Sant Jordi de Mollé and at Sorigué’s PLANTA project facilities. Serra has chosen this place to film the last part of this film, which will be presented in multiscreen format at the 56th edition of the Venice Art Biennale. It will be representing Catalonia in the Collateral Events programme with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, the promoter of the project.

Chus Martínez is to curate the Catalan proposal to the Venice Biennale, featuring a project by Albert Serra
Catalonia will be participating once again in the 2015 Venice Biennale, also known as the 56th International Art Exhibition, as part of the Eventi collaterali, by presenting a project curated by Chus Martínez entitled “Singularity”. The IRL to hold a public tender to represent Catalonia at the Venice Visual Arts Biennale 2015
The Institut Ramon Llull is once again organizing a public tender to choose a curated project to represent Catalonia at the 56th edition of the Venice Visual Arts Biennale in 2015, as part of the Collateral Events programme. This will be the fourth time the IRL has presented Catalonia at the Venice Biennale of Visual Arts, which is due to take place from 9th May to 22nd November, with Okwui Enwezor as artistic director.
