HORACIO FUMERO
jazz // tango, flamenco
Double bassist Horacio Fumero was born in Santa Fe (Argentina). En 1973, he came to Europe with Gato Barbieri and he later took up residence in Barcelona, where he joined Tete Montoliu’s regular trio. Fumero has played with the likes of Freddie Hubbard, Johnny Griffin, Horace Parlan, Danilo Pérez, etc. In 2005, after more than fifty albums in which he concentrated on the art of accompaniment, he released his first two albums as a solo artist, Desde Barcelona and Isoca, which were followed by Contrabajeando and Caminhos cruzados. Fumero fused his jazz sounds with flamenco (Martirio, Chano Domínguez, Chicuelo, Ginesa Ortega, Miguel Poveda, Pedro Javier González) and tango (Pablo Mainetti, Adrian Iaies, Rodolfo Mederos). He has received many prizes, and in 2012 was awarded the JazzTerrassaman Prize at the 32nd Terrassa Jazz Festival.
