DEALAN
folk i músiques del món, mestissatge // mediterranean, celtic folk,
From Ireland to India, and the entire Mediterranean region, instruments from countless cultures all help to forge Dealan’s explosive sound, enriched by contemporary arrangements without losing one jot of its traditional essence. Since their very origins, the band, formed in Barcelona in 2002 and considered one of the most promising on the Catalan new folk scene, have sought a personal sound. In this, they use instruments from many different cultures, from Ireland to the Mediterranean. Uilleann pipes, Arabic lute, violin, sitar, cello, didgeridoo and other instruments are meshed together in a modern sound to create a unique, powerful style. Having given more than one hundred concerts over the last few years, Dealan have performed in festivals all over Spain and the rest of Europe, including Italy, Germany, Poland and Portugal.
In 2011, Dealan followed up their critically-acclaimed debut album, Creuant els mons (2007), with a new LP, entitled Impuls.
