TXARANGO

world fusion  //

Àlex Carmoma

Txarango is the latest and most authentic phenomenon to be generated by the Barcelona sound. Born in the Raval, the city’s most multicultural neighbourhood, the band plays an energetic mixture of reggae, Latin music and other contemporary and roots sounds. Their repertoire is formed by well-rounded songs that are transformed into pure festive power on stage by their powerful live performances. The message is clear: energy, joy and celebration. 75,000 downloads of their first album, a 100-gig debut tour taking them to 7 countries and a place in the lists ranking the great and good in music in 2012 make Txarango one of Barcelona’s most exportable products.
