Joan Benesiu (Alacant, 1971) is a writer and secondary school philosophy teacher. He is the first author to win both Llibreter Prize and the Crexells Prize for the same work, his novel Gegants de gel. His literary contributions have been described as highconcept —surprising, richly evocative and enigmatic— and brought to life through a distinctively personal voice that allows for literature both ambitious and pleasurable.
