Anna Manso Munné
The Secret Language, by Anna Manso, is a realist novel with dashes of fantasy that takes place in an everyday setting, where a deaf girl learns to talk to animals, just by taking out her hearing aids. With this gift and the help of her animal friends, she helps all the beings around her to get their joy back. This is a masterfully woven story that deals with key values such as the importance of friendship and family, as well as themes like the Spanish Civil War and its scars, still felt today.
