This singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist, who began her career in music by entering – and winning – competitions, has since become an icon of indie pop in Spain thanks to her engaging personality and exceptional voice. Her powerful stage presence has helped her to cement a career that is beginning to give fruit. This Majorcan-born artist with Andalusian and Macedonian blood in her veins who has lived in New York and always comes back to Barcelona, saw her star really begin to rise after releasing her third album, Maika Makovski (Origami Records, 2010), recorded in Bristol and Bath and produced by John Parish. Next came Desaparecer, featuring the songs she wrote for a theatrical production in which she also played a role as an actress. 2012 saw her touring Spain, the US and South America to present her latest long player, Thank you for the boots.
