Cristina Masanés (Manresa, 1965) is a writer. She has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona and a master’s in Gender Studies from the University of València. Based in the Empordà region, she writes for various cultural institutions and has curated exhibition projects for several museums. She contributes opinion pieces, articles on art and historical commentaries to a variety of publications, and sits on the editorial board of L’Avenç. She is the author of two acclaimed biographical essays: Lídia de Cadaqués (Quaderns Crema, 2001) and Germaine Gargallo (Llibres del Segle, 2014). She also published Eroica (2021), a lockdown diary delving into a traumatic episode in her family’s past, with L’Avenç.
