Short Stories from Lesbos

Àngel Burgas
Ignasi Blanch

"A realistic novel as well as an homage to storytelling, which denounces the situation that youths face in the Lesbos refugee camp."

Àngel Burgas is proficient at explaining complex issues and current events with style and rigour through literature. In this novel, he tells the story of a group of helpless youths who have a hard time in the refugee camp of Lesbos. One day they arrange a desperate escape plan. But a doctor stops their suicidal thoughts. As in One Thousand and One Nights, the key to survival is reading stories, which will become their escape mechanism and a hope they hold on to.
