Children’s and YA : Fiction
Àunia is a novel with unusual origins: Ivan Vera started to write it when he was sixteen, as his high school research project, and it was published seven years later. The main character, an Iberian girl, is determined to be free, at a time, the Second Punic War, when a woman could only aspire to be a mother. Her adventures –leaving her family, enlisting for the army, discovering friendship, love and death–involve various cultures, thanks to encounters with Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans.
