Aromatic and Mediterranean; the properties of myrtle (murtra, in Catalan) can well be applied to the songs of Isaac Ulam, a singer-songwriter of a type that no longer exist, as if from another time or place. For Isaac Ulam is not just another musician. His music is radical, uncompromising. After his debut album, En els prats més llunyans (2009), which achieved cult status, he released excellent follow-up, Murtra (2012), a new, hand-crafted jewel in the crown of “weird” psychedelic folk. In 2013, Ulam will present recordings made with the singer José Domingo.
