About TRADUcat

This data base provides contact information on translators of Catalan literature who have recently-published translated works. This information is drawn from TRAC, a data base of translations of Catalan literature, and serves as a resource for those requiring information on literary translators who are currently active.

The data base can also include translators who have at least one work translated from Catalan to another language, in book format, and as the sole translator of that work. Translators can send us their name and contact information, in order to update our database. We welcome your comments, additions or corrections which may be e-mailed to us at: rcrespi@llull.cat or Llull general email.

Amanda Prat-Giral

Amanda Prat-Giral was born in Nicaragua and grew up in a trilingual household, with a French father and a Catalan mother: in a way, translation is her mother tongue. After discovering English in secondary school, she graduated from ESIT (École supérieure d'interprètes et traducteurs) in Paris with a Master's degree in technical translation and went on to earn a second Master's in literary translation (Paris VII), before beginning a career as a freelance translator. She has worked for several UN organizations in Montréal, New York, Rome and London, as well as the French publishing house Actes Sud. She's particularly interested in translating contemporary fiction (or narrative non-fiction) by feminine voices.
