TRADUcat: Translators from catalan

This data base provides contact information on translators of Catalan literature who have recently-published translated works. This information is drawn from TRAC, a data base of translations of Catalan literature, and serves as a resource for those requiring information on literary translators who are currently active.

The data base can also include translators who have at least one work translated from Catalan to another language, in book format, and as the sole translator of that work. Translators can send us their name and contact information, in order to update our database. We welcome your comments, additions or corrections which may be e-mailed to us at: rcrespi@llull.cat or Llull general email.

You can see if these items are available in the library of the Institut Ramon Llull.

Amaranta Fontcuberta

Amaranta Fontcuberta

A multidisciplinary researcher and science-society mediator, Amaranta Fontcuberta is interested in the dialogue between different forms of knowledge and practices, and in confronting human and non-human perspectives on the environment. She holds a PhD on evolutionary ecology by the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and is currently a researcher in the Geography department, where she investigates human-animal cohabitation. In parallel, she develops multiple art-sciences projects, in collaboration with artists, theatres and researchers. Notably, she is a co-funder of the interdisciplinary MALM collectif, and co-created the performance Derborence (Théâtre de Vidy, Lausanne, 2024).

A reader of poetry from a very young age and a lover of notebooks and good pens, she made her debut in literary translation with the French translation of Dolors Miquel’s poetry collection The pink plastic glove, together with the author Lorrain Voisard. She thus broadens her range of translation across species, disciplines, cultures, and latitudes, to

include translation between languages – from the language of the heart to that of everyday life.
