The world keeps turning, and we are delighted to announce that as of February 18, the Institut Ramon Llull’s grants for publishing and promoting Catalan literature are at your disposal.

Grants to publish Catalan literature:

1. Literature Translation - open call from February 18 to April 29. Further info here.

2. Illustrated Books - open call from February 18 to April 29

These grants cover 3 types of copyright assignment: work commissioned by a foreign publisher to an illustrator; sale of the copyright license for an already-published work; and international co-edition. Further info here (printable version PDF)

 

Grants to promote Catalan literature:

1. Literature Promotion - open call from February 18 to May 13

Remember that these grants include the following: texts of Catalan literature published in translation in cultural journals; promotional events abroad centered around works by an illustrator residing in Catalonia or the Balearic Islands; and promotional events focusing on Catalan literary works, including digital activities (pre-recorded videos, readings or performances, interviews online, etc.).

2. Promotional materials - open call from February 18 to May 13.

The aim of this grant is to assist publishers of Catalan literature and literary agents with the translation of excerpts, plus the author’s biography and associated press releases, as well as the generation of promotional materials of works written in Catalan, in any format (print, digital and/or audiovisual).

Due to mobility restrictions resulting from the current pandemic, Travel grants for Writers and Illustrators and those for Translators in Residency will not be announced for now.
