The exhibition, organized by the Centre d’Estudis Catalans, in collaboration with the Fundació Felícia Fuster and the Institut Ramon Llull, takes the form of a dialogue, both for the arrangement of the works and the diversity of their materials and elements. The exhibition seeks not only formal and conceptual connections with the poetry of Felicia Fuster, but it also explores the differences between the processes of art and those of poetic language. Some pieces have actually been created specifically for the occasion, while others are from previous works, in which links can be detected with the poet’s work.
Felícia Fuster (Barcelona 1921 – Paris 2012) was a writer, painter and translator. Living in Paris since the 1950s, Fuster has become one of the most singular voices of contemporary Catalan literature. She considered that “the important thing is art and language”. Her entire oeuvre is characterized by a strong personality – of a Faber woman as she rather ironically defined herself – and by the desire for freedom that she displayed in all aspects of her life.
