Bernat Cormand Rifà

Bernat Cormand was a philologist and illustrator. He had a Master’s in Comparative Literature from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His art studies included sculpture, drawing, and illustration. He worked as a writer and editor, primarily at Grup 62, coordinating novel and essay collections. He was the director of the magazine Faristol, which specializes in children’s literature, and a critic for the Ara newspaper in the «Estimat Andersen» section. He was part of the jury for the Lazarillo Prize in the picture book category and the jury for Vaixell de Vapor Prize awarded by Editorial Cruïlla from 2012 and 2021. He published several articles and given lectures on children’s literature, particularly picture books dealing with LGBTQ+ themes. He participated in numerous group exhibitions and published the illustrated books El dibuixant d’ossos, El nen perfecte, and Els dies feliços, and the novel El cap als núvols.
