Meet Antonieta, the central character of this story. Soon to turn twelve, she shares her name with her mum, her grandma and her great grandma. Her neighbours call them “the Antonietas”, a long line of women with a golden touch, capable of sewing, stitching and giving life to any garment. But what happens when the young girl receives a special birthday gift that looks like it came from another century?
Antonieta is handed a red overcoat that has been passed down to all the women in the family – and at first, she isn’t best pleased. What she doesn’t know is that this piece of clothing holds a secret that will change everything and take her back to her roots in a
way that she could never have imagined.
