Fiction
Two teenage girls are found dead in a squat in the neighborhood of Sant Andreu with signs pointing to ritual murder. Agent Abraham Corvo is on the case, a half-Equatorial Guinean and half-Catalan wise-cracking, prog-rock and genre fiction fan. Corvo also happens to be possessed by a demon, giving him certain powers and this helps to his investigations along with a powerful thirst for blood that has him scrounging around the morgue looking for organs to consume.
The bodies pile up as every suspect is found dead and in the shaky new Republic created by Catalonia’s unilateral declaration of independence, the police force can’t afford any further deterioration of the public’s confidence. The alternate political backdrop —the Jonbar hinge: October 4th, 2017— and paranormal features showcase an explicit vindication of the group effort that is police work and a fascinatingly nuanced, hyper realistic look into the nitty gritty of how crimes are solved.
