Project BB Make by the Institut d'Arquitectura Avançada de Catalunya
The BB Make project aims to explore the potential of new technologies applied to design through the creation of a participatory and collaborative structure Departing from the notions of open design and collaborative design, visitors to the pavilion will be able to participate in the creation of a large structure built from small parts (rods and nodes) that they choose themselves and which will later be 3D printed and laser cut.
Conference on Gaudí and Modernism
Ricard Mas will give a monographic lecture on Gaudí and modernism in Barcelona's pavilion. The talk will be of an informative nature, and it will enable closer examination of this European cultural movement through a look at the great Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. The speaker is an art critic, researcher and curator. He received a BA in Art History in 1989 from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and has worked as a research assistant to Rafael Santos Torroella (1990-1997) and as the technical director of the Soler y Llach literature auction (1998-2001).
