Mariona Bessa (Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra, 1994) is a biologist who specialises in clinical laboratory analysis. In 2019 and 2021 she won the first prize in the Christmas short story contest of the Government of Andorra. The Catch is her second novel and was awarded the prestigious Guillem Cifre de Colonya children’s and young adult literature prize.
