Lluís Prats was born in Terrassa in 1966, studied Art and Archeology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat de Girona, spent years as a historical researcher and was awarded First Prize from the Ministry of Culture. He has worked for many years as a secondary school teacher and an editor of art books, and he headed up a film production company in Los Angeles, California, where he had the chance to work on several Oscar-winning projects. He has published more than a dozen books, both fiction and non-fiction. Among other awards, he has won the Strega Ragazzi, the Folch i Torres and the Ramon Muntaner prizes.
