EUNIC Barcelona promotes a gathering of cultural institutes within the framework of MONDIACULT 2025

18/09/2025

The Institut Ramon Llull is co-organising the event, led by EUNIC, which will take place on 30 September at the IEC. Through a series of sessions, the event will explore how to address global challenges through cultural dialogue.

The cluster of European cultural institutes in Barcelona (EUNIC Barcelona) is organising a working day within the framework of MONDIACULT 2025, aimed at fostering cultural dialogue and international cooperation between European cultural institutes and their counterparts around the world. This gathering offers a unique opportunity for collective reflection on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of international cultural relations.

The programme will feature two round tables. The first, “New Challenges in the Teaching of Foreign Languages in the Age of AI”, will examine the implications of artificial intelligence in language education. Discussion topics will include the absence of cultural nuance in AI-generated materials, technological dependency, public language policies, the role of spoken language, and ethical considerations.

The second round table, “Cultural Dialogue and the Role of Cultural Institutes in a World in Conflict”, will explore how culture can serve as a tool for dialogue between communities in conflict. It will present practical examples, models of cooperation agreements, and multilateral peacebuilding projects.

The event was conceived with the aim of sharing best practices and diverse cultural contexts, strengthening intercultural relations, promoting international collaboration among cultural institutes, and facilitating connections between these institutes, public and private organisations, and independent experts.

The event is free of charge, with prior registration required via this form.

This initiative by EUNIC Barcelona is linked to the celebrations of the European Day of Languages, with the goal of promoting linguistic diversity and language learning across Europe. EUNIC stands for European Union National Institutes for Culture. The Barcelona cluster was founded in 2021 by the Goethe-Institut, the Institut français, and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. Its members and associates include the Institut Ramon Llull, the Consulates General of Hungary, Romania, and Switzerland in Barcelona, the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona, and the British Council.
