The Royal College of Art will host the launch of the English edition of the publication, edited by Eva Franch, Mireia Luzárraga and Alejandro Muiño, on June 19. The volume is part of Water Parliaments, a project organised by the Institut Ramon Llull that is representing Catalan culture at the Venice Architecture Biennale this year.

With contributions from thinkers, scientists, activists, philosophers and architects from around the world, 100 Words for Water: A Vocabulary is a collective publication edited by Eva Franch, Mireia Luzárraga, and Alejandro Muiño. It proposes a new vocabulary—a new set of conceptual tools—to reshape our relationship with water.

The English edition has been published by Lars Müller Publishers and will be presented on June 19 at 6:00 PM at the Royal College of Art in London (Senior Common Room, Frayling Building, Jay Mews entrance, Kensington Gore). The book is part of the project Water Parliaments: Projective Ecosocial Architectures, the proposal for the Catalonia in Venice space at the Biennale Architettura 2025. It is curated and developed by Eva Franch i Gilabert, Mireia Luzárraga and Alejandro Muiño, and organised by the Institut Ramon Llull. According to the curators—who will be present at the launch— “this is not simply a thematic dictionary, but a hybrid manifesto bridging thought, architecture, and activism.” The event will also feature the Dean of the Royal College of Art, Adrian Lahoud, who has contributed to the publication.

The book, supported by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC) and the Institut Ramon Llull, was also presented at Columbia GSAPP (Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University) on June 4, with participation of the three curators and the presence of several contributors, including Lola Ben-Alon, Neeraj Bhatia, Nerea Calvillo, Uriel Fogué, Nahyun Hwang, Lydia Kallipoliti, Dominic Leong, Sandro Marpillero, Elise Misao Hunchuck, David Eugin Moon, Sonal Sahni Beri and José Luis de Vicente.
