Translated for the first time into French thirty years after its publication, La Pasion selon Renée Vivien is the master and final work of the Catalan poet Maria-Mercè Marçal (1952-1998).

Combining rigorous documentation and lyrical effusion, this choral novel takes us through time and space, giving voice to multiple characters who knew or fantasized about the poet Renée Vivien and who gravitate around her magnetic enigma.

Maria-Mercè Marçal (1952-1998) has already met the French public thanks to the translation of an anthology of her poems, under the title Troix fois rebelle, published by Bruno Doucey in 2013. La Passion selon Renée Vivien is her masterpiece, novel-screenplay-poem, palimpsest of the mystery of mad love. The translation has been done by Nicole G. Albert.
