The Catalan Film Academy's film exhibition circuit continues to expand internationally through the Institut Ramon Llull.

The Gaudí Cycle, which has facilitated the programming of Catalan cinema in over a hundred towns in Catalonia since 2016, is taking a step forward in its internationalization. This initiative began last year in Mexico City and will continue this year in London, Santiago de Chile, Guadalajara, and Berlin. This film exhibition circuit, coordinated by the Catalan Film Academy, continues its international expansion thanks to the Institut Ramon Llull.

Films that exemplify the vitality and diversity of Catalan cinema, and that have been shown at festivals worldwide, can now be viewed at the Institute of Contenmporary Arts (ICA) in London, starting with Suro, by Mikel Gurrea, on March 2. Until October, each month will be scheduled a film selected by a committee of experts based on quality, plurality, and cultural relevance.

The films that comprise the 2024 Gaudí Cycle in London are:

  • Suro, Mikel Gurrea (2022, Lastor Media, Irusoin, Malmo Pictures, Nocturna Pictures)
  • In the Company of woman (Las buenas compañías), Silvia Munt (2023, Oberon Media, Irusoin, Manny Films, En la frontera película AIE, La Fidele Production)
  • The enchanted (Els encantats). Elena Trapé (2022, Coming Soon Films, A Contracorriente Films, Encantats Films AIE)
  • 20.000 Species of bees (20.000 especies de abejas), Estibaliz Urresola (2023, Inicia Films, Gariza Films, 20000 Especies de abejas AIE)
  • One year, one night (Un año, una noche), Isaki Lacuesta (2022, La Termita Films, Noodles Production, Bambú Producciones, Una noche la película AIE, Mr.Fields and Friends Cinema)

The Gaudi Cycle will be also programmed at: Cinema Tonalá (Mexico City), Museo Cabañas (Guadalajara), Kino Babylon Mitte (Berlin), and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago de Chile).

The projection of Catalan cinema abroad is one of the priorities of the Institut Ramon Llull, which organizes the Gaudí Cycle at international level, with the coordination of the Catalan Film Academy.
