The Residència de guions is a development lab for fiction feature film scripts, the first incubator of this kind in Catalunya, and also the first one to host projects in Catalan language. In total, 8 projects will be followed with mentoring and tutoring with professionals of recognised trajectory, workshops and master classes to share various techniques, meetings with the industry, talks on issues like sustainability or inclusion, as well as meetings with various distribution and exhibition agents.

The Residència, run by the filmmaker Carla Simón, offers a grant that allows participants to focus in writing and thus accelerating the creation process, as well as promoting constant dialogue and exchange between the various projects. It also addresses the importance of internationalisation through training and the contact with the international industry.

The goal of this initiative is favouring the maturity and completion of feature film cinema projects in Catalan language, with a long-term and economic-coverage stable programme that gives the selected projects the necessary boost to be carried out.

For two months, there will be two retreats at Faberllull Olot, one at the beginning and another one at the end of the programme. In both retreats, residents will live together and share their projects to make them grow.

The Residència is an initiative of the Acadèmia del Cinema Català together with Guionistes Associats de Catalunya, with the funding of the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales through the European Union – NextGeneration EU, within the frame of the Pla de Recuperació, Transformació i Resiliència; the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat –Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals, the Ajuntament de Barcelona, the Universitat Ramon Llull – FCRI, the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the ESCAC and the Institut Ramon Llull.
