The University of Leeds joins the commemoration of the Centenary of the Birthday of Joan Fuster with a day of conferences and a workshop on aphorisms

Five specialists in the work of the intellectual born in Valencia participate in the academic event organized by the Universitat of Leeds (United Kingdom) with the collaboration of The Institut Ramon Llull.

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Joan Fuster (Sueca, Valencia, November 23, 1922), the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom organized an online academic session with five specialists in the work of the Valencian intellectual. Besides that, an aphorisms workshop was held with the students of Catalan Language.

The program of the academic day, on November 24, consisted of five lectures by experts in the work of Fuster from the University of Valencia and the Espai Joan Fuster :

15.45-16.30 Carme Gregori Soldevila (University of Valencia): «Joan Fuster, a commited intellectual and essayist»

16.45-17.30 Salvador Ortells Miralles (Espai Joan Fuster): «Joan Fuster: the writer and its Space»

17.30-18.15 Vicent Simbor Roig (University of Valencia): «The literary nation of Joan Fuster»

18.15-19.00 Xavier Hernàndez i Garcia (University of Valencia): «The musical writing of Joan Fuster: poetry, aphorisms, and songs»

On the 23 November the illustrator Ame Soler was in charge of a workshop with the students of Catalan at the University of Leeds, in which aphorisms by the Valencian writer inspired a collage of images.
