The seminar is organised by the Laboratori d’Investigació de Literatura Comparada a l’Espai Intel·lectual Europeu of the University of Barcelona, with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua, and the University Paris 8, which offers a course on Catalan studies.
The series of seminars “Gare de France” have the goal of analysing the literary relations between France and the Catalan literature from a comparative perspective towards their singularities, in order to better understand the shared narrative of a European intellectual history. From 2013, some of these seminars have taken place at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, or at the Centre d’Estudis Catalans of the Sorbonne.
In 2022, this academic symposium addresses the work of the most decisive Valencian intellectual from the second half of the XX century, Joan Fuster, an example of the deep relation between Catalan and French literatures.
