Institut Ramon LLull

Mariona Vilaseca and Marijo Ribas, leads of two artistic residencies in Sardinia and Occitania

Arts.  France, 10/09/2022

From September 1st to 30th, the two international residencies are taking place within the project Immaterial. Delta Art, promoted by Es Far Cultural and with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.

Es Far Cultural is in charge of the coordination and management, production, and realization of the Catalan participation in the two artistic residencies’ programme in Sardinia (in the cultural association LandWorks, located in Argentiera) and Occitania (La Providence Centre Català d’Art Vivant, located at the Casa Descatllar in Ille sur Têt, France).

Immaterial. Delta Art Residències is a project for research residencies based in the arts, with the participation of Casa d’Artistes, LandWorks (Sardinia), and La Providence CCAV (France), and with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, as well as the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics and the Consell Insular de Menorca.

The three participating residence spaces share some values: the vocation of socio-cultural revitalization of the surrounding villages and their inhabitants, and the location of their centres in buildings with a particular story. As the project title introduces, the lines of action revolve around the cultural and intangible heritage of each territory from a contemporary approach, hybridising history and the arts in order to know and understand the past, as well as building possible futures with an empirical basis and fiction.
