The 11th edition of the Pyrenees Early Music Festival has the Balearic Islands as guest territory

Music.  Catalonia, 30/06/2022

The festival is taking place between July 1st and August 21st, with a total of 55 concerts, 50 different activities included in the ticket price, 5 new towns, and as a major call of this year’s edition, the premiere of the “Concerts amb Gust”.

The Pyrenees Early Music Festival (FeMAP) gets to its eleventh edition with a fully established and singular artistic proposal: a cross-border dimension and the will to bring ancient music to the Pyrenean territories, with a programme that includes fifty concerts –with bands and soloists of great reputation within this musical field– in 38 Pyrenean towns; now with a raise of the festival presence in Northern Catalonia, the festival counts with the Balearic Islands as a guest territory, with the performance of MUSIca ALcheMIca, Acadèmia 1830, and the Orquestra Cambra Illa de Menorca.

During its eleven-year trajectory, the FeMAP always combined ancient quality music with the natural and cultural heritage of the Pyrenees. That is why concerts are programmed in singular spaces –Romanesque churches or high mountain lakes, among others– and it counts with a heritage and touristic added value, with a good accommodation offer and the chance to do guided tours and activities to discover the territory, both included in the concert’s ticket.

The 2022 edition counts with the new feature of the Concerts amb Gust sessions, which come along with the tasting of territory’s products. The festival also counts with the Social FeMAP, a programme of socio-educational intervention aimed at bringing music closer to people with difficulties to access culture. It is a unique event with a strong commitment to the Pyrenees –landscape, nature, territory– and the people who inhabit them.
