Alba Folgado wins the SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2022

The selection committee comprised of Eva Sòria (Institut de Cultura of Barcelona) and Maria Lladó (Institut Ramon Llull), together with the management team of Sant Andreu Contemporani (Jordi Pino, director, and Zaida Trallero and Pablo G. Polite, curators), has awarded the residence in competition to the art curator Alba Folgado. Marenka Krasomil and Yasmin Martin Vodopivec have been finalists.




The curator will be part of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts’ jury in 2022, and will later develop a curatorial project with a selection of catalan artists chosen from applicants to the prize. The project must be presented at Ateljéförening Hospitalet at Uppsala (Sweden) during 2022.

On February 1st at 24h the registration period for SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2022 ended. In total, twenty proposals were received from countries such as Germany, Brazil, Denmark, El Salvador, Scotland, Slovenia, United States, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Rwanda, Serbia and Sweden.

SAC International Curatorial Residency Program is an initiative from Sant Andreu Contemporani with the participation of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona and the Institut Ramon Llull. The purpose of the open call is to offer a personal knowledge of the art context through involvement in the jury of the Miquel Casablancas Prize, and to foster, in the context of young art talent, future collaborations between local and foreign cultural actors
