Japanese filmmaker Naomi Kawase, translator Ronald Puppo and Australian linguist Joseph Lo Bianco, Ramon Llull Awards 2021

The Ramon Llull Foundation has presented the Ramon Llull International Awards in Andorra on November 26, 2021, aimed at recognizing people or institutions from outside the linguistic domain who have worked for the international promotion of the Catalan language and culture. The winners in this ninth edition have been the filmmaker Naomi Kawase (Award for the International Promotion of Catalan Creation) for programming a Focus of Catalan Cinema directed by women within the Nara International Film Festival; the translator Ronald Puppo (Literary Translation Prize) recognized for the translation of texts by Joan Maragall published in the poetic anthology One Day of Life is Life; and the Australian linguist Joseph Lo Bianco (Catalan Studies and Cultural Diversity Award), for promoting multilingualism and finding the balance between local and official languages, and for their knowledge and interest and commitment to Catalan culture and society .
