The first inter-University online seminar on Catalan literature organized in 2021 by researchers from four French Universities (Aix-Marseille University, University of Perpignan Via Domitia, Paris 8 University and Toulouse University Jean Jaurés) on the issue of the (non) media coverage of women’s literary devices in Catalan cultural heritage’s historiography, will find an extension in a second edition entitled “From cryptogyny to the media coverage of women writers: Felícia Fuster and Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas”. The intention of the seminar is to highlight through complementary approaches the literary work of these two writers who were left in the shadow during their lifetime and were recently (re)discovered.
The event is organized by the labs of French Universities CRESEMUPVD (Axe “Langages et identités”), LER-UP8 (Axe “Créations: historicités, transferts et transgressions dans les pays de langue romane”), LLA-CREATIS-UT2J (Axe “Hispanité et contemporanéité”) and ReSO-UPVM (Axe “La littérature et ses frontières: normes, hybridations et migrations poétiques”); as well as the research group GETLIHC from Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC).
This experience is an example of the vitality and the interdisciplinary interest of Catalan studies offered through different facilities linked by Xarxa Llull. Thanks to its online videoconference broadcast, sessions will be available to all those interested in the subject.
