The International University Network of Catalan Studies takes part in the Year of Fabra Celebrations and has sent the Pompeu Fabra exhibition to Hungary for a two-week period as part of the ‘Language, Literature and Nation’ programme.

Pompeu Fabra. A Complete Language presents Fabra’s contribution to Catalan, and highlights the major social importance of his life and work in Catalonia and the impact of his work on promoting the language. This touring exhibition was created by the Directorate General for Linguistic Policy and managed by the Catalan Culture Departments and the Consortium for Linguistic Normalization. Jordi Ginebra, who curated the Year of Fabra, was responsible for the contents of the exhibition. This tour is just one of the international activities organised by IRL as part of the Any Year of Fabra.

The Eötvös Loran Tudománygyetem (ELTE) and Szegedi Tudománygyetem Universities belong to the International University Network of Catalan Studies, coordinated by the Institut Ramon Llull. The network currently comprises 150 universities from 30 differents countries that teach Catalan language and culture outside language classes. IRL supports these international university studies by signing agreements to launch or consolidate Catalan studies at these institutions and by organising a variety of programmes and grants for these universities, their teaching staff and their students.
