Meet the Catalan artists!

Lali Álvarez (Barcelona, 1980) uses performance to subvert and criticize society and its relationship to the authorities. With topics going from police repression and the city's subservience to tourism, to anti-capitalist dissidence, Álvarez believes in the power of the citizenry. Her most recent works include Ragazzo and Barcelona (contra la paret).

Xesca Salvà (Llucmajor, 1978) is a set and stage designer who focuses on emotions and sensory experiences by mixing images, music, and readings. In her latest project, Cases, she reduced the theatrical scene to a miniature scale, using doll houses and intermixing them with audio and visual materials to immerse the viewer as the lead actor and interpreter.

Clàudia Cedó is a theater director, writer, and actor with a degree in psychology. Founder of Escenaris Especials, she teaches and stages therapeutic theater for people who risk social exclusion, including those in drug rehabilitation programs, people with psychological challenges, and people with disabilities.  

Ariadna Peya is a dancer and choreographer as well as the cofounder of the company Les Impuxibles, along with the singer and composer Clara Peya. Together, they work on a mixture of languages. Ariadna has participated in multiple musical theater productions and experimental performances, and she choreographs for various projects. 

Anna Giribet is the Programming Technician at Fira Tàrrega, an international arts fair founded in 1981 that takes place in Tàrrega every September. At Pro Helvetica, she has curated the selection of artists and will contextualize the work of creative women in Catalonia today.

The artists and curator have been involved with the following Catalan arts festivals and venues: Sala Beckett, Fira Tàrrega, Sala Ivanow, IF Festival, Teatre Principal de Palma.
