Published in Sweden by Nilsson Forlag in November 2016, the book has won several awards, including the Premi de la Critica Catalana (2012), the Premi de la Crítica Serra d’Or (2012) and the Prix Courrier International (2013).

Jo Confesso (Confessions) has become a bestseller and has been translated into 28 languages, including Albanian, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish and Turkish. 

On the Kulturhuset Stadsteaterns International Literary Prize’s list of finalists are literary works such as De urolige (De oroliga) by Linn Ullmann, translated by Urban Andersson; Mothering Sunday (Mödrarnas söndag) by Graham Swift, translated by Hans-Jacob Nilsson and Peníze od Hitlera (Pengar från Hitler) by Radka Denemarková, translated by Karin Eriksson. 
The award ceremony is being held in January 2018.

The huge popularity of works like Jo confesso (Confessions) and Les veus del Pamano (Voices from the Pamano) has made Jaume Cabré one of the outstanding writers of Catalan literature and one of the most visible faces of its international projection. Events like the 2007 Frankfurt International Book Fair and the 2016 Warsaw Book Fair, where Barcelona and Catalan literature were the guests of honour, have helped to establish, in overseas markets, works by Cabré and many other Catalan writers, such as Carme Riera, Quim Monzó, Rafel Nadal and Albert Sánchez Piñol.
