Through dance, theatre and music workshops, the Paramythades project sets out to offer children and adolescents who are in the refugee camps a place of freedom, expression and creation.
Another aspect of the project is the donation of the books that were exhibited last April at the Bologna Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair, which bore the slogan “Sharing a future – Books in Catalan” and at which Catalonia and the Balearic Islands were guests of honour. The copies have travelled to the library of the Nea Kavala refugee camp in Greece. Moreover, one of these books, El banc blau, a story written and illustrated by Albert Asensio and translated expressly into the languages spoken in the country and in the camp (Greek, Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi and French), served as the starting point for a theatre workshop that helped to facilitate integration and coexistence between the Greek population and the refugee community.
In attendance at the presentation will be the members of Paramythades (Lola Armadàs, Pau de Nut, Marc Pujol, Alicia Reyero, Manar Taljo and Helena Tornero), the audio-visual team (Jep Jorba, and Cristobal Quesada), Ahmad Alhamsho, a participant in the activities and a refugee in the Nea Kavala camp, and Albert Asensio, the author of El banc blau.
