La Comédie du Livre in Montpellier invites six Catalan writers

Literature.  Montpellier, 29/05/2015

La Comédie du Livre in Montpellier, the capital of the Llanguedoc-Roussillon region’s book fair, has invited Iberian literature to its 30th edition. Over 30 writers and illustrators bear witness to the extraordinary vitality and diversity of literary creation in the Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Basque and Galician languages. Those invited include six Catalan authors: Miquel de Palol, Sergi Pàmies and Pau Miró, writing in Catalan, and Alicia Giménez Bartlett, Carlos Zanón and Víctor del Árbol, writing in Spanish.

For three days, from 29th to 31st May, the guest writers will be taking part in a wide-ranging programme of meetings and events, including literary discussions and debates, round tables, literary lunches, workshops and meetings with schoolchildren. The diverse ideas that are offered to the public put the spotlight on the new generation of Iberian writers and make young writers very visible. La Comédie du Livre takes place in the heart of the city of Montpellier, the esplanada de Charles de Gaulle, at the contemporary arts centre La Panacée and in the Espace Dominique Bagouet.

Three writers in Catalan and three in Spanish will meet from 29th to 31st May in Montpellier
