Le Tendre Amour will be performing “La barca di Venetia per Padova” in Vilnius

Music.  Vilnius,  29/12/2014

The ensemble Le Tendre Amour, based in Barcelona, will be in Vilnius to perform the opera “La barca di Venetia per Padova”. The production can be seen on 29 December as part of the Banchetto Musicale Festival, held each year in the capital of Lithuania. Adrián Schvartzein directs the work, and they will be joined by the Brevis Choir & Consort. The Catalan group has performed all around the world and has had enormous success with its whole repertory.

As its name suggests, “La barca di Venetia per Padova” is the story of a vessel that sails from Venice to Padua. Aboard there are a motley crew of passengers, though they have a common goal: to reach Padua. The mixture of cultures, religions, languages and dialects leads to misunderstandings until a song everyone knows brings them together and makes them good friends.

Le Tendre Amour is a company based in Barcelona and made up of young musicians from all over the world. Their style breaks with conventional Baroque music. Since their beginnings the group have placed special emphasis on creating different programmes that might please audiences of all kinds. The ensemble has also taken part in leading international festivals, has been hailed by the critics and has recently recorded a programme of sacred French cantatas for the prestigious label K6117.

Last November in Moscow Le Tendre Amour performed Los elementos, the opera by the Mallorcan composer Antoni de Literes, and also appeared at the Malgartener Klosterkonzerte festival in Germany with the show All in a garden green. The three performances have the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
