Four Catalan theatre and dance companies have scheduled performances for the Christmas holidays in the provinces of León, Madrid, Segovia and Ciudad Real. The Companyia Roberto G. Alonso will be in Ponferrada; Marcel Gros in Arganda del Rey, Meco and Segovia; Brodas Bros in La Solana and Torrejón de Ardoz; and the Companyia de Pep Bou also in Segovia. All the performances have the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, which is committed to introducing Catalan performers to the international scene.
The Companyia Roberto G. Alonso will take the show “Simplicissimus” on 22 December at 18.00 to the Teatro Bergidum in Ponferrada as part of the Performing Arts for Children Season Christmas 2015. The function is a tribute to the music magazine of the same name and takes us to an amusing and slightly surrealistic dancing universe which combines imagination and fantasy. For years the company has been producing dance for young audiences.
From 23 to 29 December the clown Marcel Gros will be presenting “Minutos”, a work about the small things of life. First, the Teatro Juan Bravo will be the venue for the performance the day before Christmas Eve at 19.00, in a season of family theatre over the holidays. On 27 at 18.00 he will take his mime show to the Centro Cultural Antonio Llorente in Meco. On Monday at the same time he will be at the Teatro Montserrat Caballé in Arganda del Rey.
The Companyia de Pep Bou’s soap bubbles will be arriving in Segovia around the same time. That will be on 28 December from 19.00. “CLINC!” wants to make us aware of the beauty of what is all around us and the possibility of making our environment better. The show is directed by Bou and the leading actors are Isaías Antolín and Eduardo Telletxea, two rising talents in the company.
Lastly before the year ends the Brodas Bros will be giving two performances of “Concierto concepto”. The first stop will be on 28 December at 21.30 in Torrejón de Ardoz, at the Teatro Municipal José María Rodero. The town La Solana in La Mancha will be seeing them on 30. The show is a blend of dance and music, energy and technique. The idea is to put on a concert with a different concept.
