Fet a Mà to perform at London International Mime Festival 2014

Performing.  London, 20/01/2014

Theatre, dance, acrobatics are fused in the performance from Catalan circus artists Marta Terrents and Pau Portabella. Their company Fet a Mà uses circus as a way of describing and sharing intense emotional worlds. They will perform from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 January at Southbank Centre as part of the LIMF programme.

In this new production, Cru, they expose humanity’s inner fragility and vulnerability with an astounding physical performance. An apparently simple acrobatic duet becomes much more; pulling back the surface to reveal something raw - layers of thought, feeling, pain and humour.

Celebrated for their expressive style of performance, Fet a Mà is led by Pau Portabella and Marta Torrrents, trained at France’s Lido School of Circus Arts in Toulouse and created their company in 2008; artistic collaborator Blai Mateu Trias, is co-artistic director of the Baro d’Evel circus company. Fet a Mà performed at Greenwich + Docklands International Festival in 2011 as part of the Catalan programme of the festival organised in col·laboration with the IRL and FiraTàrrega.

London International Mime Festival presents twenty-five days of innovative contemporary visual theatre from across Europe, including the Czech Republic, France, Holland, Italy and the UK with 8 UK premieres and 6 London premieres.
