The EU has approved financing for the Schwob project

Literature.  28/03/2013

The Schwob project, in which the Institut Ramon Llull is participating, has obtained €200,000 of financing, the maximum amount available for applicants in the European Union's 2007-2013 Culture Programme.

Schwob is a European portal for the diffusion of unknown classics of world literature, which originated in the initial project of the Dutch Foundation for Literature. It has now taken on a European-wide dimension, and includes the collaboration of institutions from Finland (Finnish Literature Exchange), France (Société européenne des Auteurs), Poland (Polish Book Institute), Belgium (Vlaams Fonds voor de Letteren) and the United Kingdom (Wales Literature Exchange).

The project, which was directly inspired by the motto of the European Union, "Our common language is translation", received 84 points out of 100 from the evaluation commission, which rated the high quality of the proposal and the participating institutions.
