One of the most interesting singer-songwriters on the Catalan scene. Building on a flamenco base, Ginesa Ortega has developed an enormously versatile sound, which has led her to take part in daring and innovative projects. Particularly outstanding is her incursion into classical music, performing one of Manuel de Falla’s most outstanding compositions, the ballet El amor brujo (Wicked Love). She is also a regular participant in the great concerts organised by the theatre company La Fura dels Baus.
On stage, her repertoire encompasses a large range of projects. Teaming up with Raynald Colom, Marcelo Mercadante, Mezquida and Roger Blàvia, she presents Quintaesencia, in which jazz, flamenco and tango become fused whilst at the same time projecting the individual identity of each participating musician.
