Art Omi: Writers (formerly Ledig House) is continuing its partnership with the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) in Barcelona for a residency exchange. For several years now, IRL has sent Catalan writers to Art Omi. With the support of the Han Nefkens Foundation, IRL is now hosting an American resident in Barcelona, following a very positive experience with the 2017 resident, Justin Go.
The residency in Barcelona can be for up to four weeks and must take place in November 2018. Exact dates will be arranged between Institut Ramon Llull and the selected applicant. All expenses are covered by IRL including lodging, food, international travel and a small per diem for living expenses.
The selected residents will be asked to participate in limited programming to engage Barcelona-based writers and media. Though a program has not been set, it is estimated that the commitment would involve 2-3 evenings of programming.
If you are interested, please submit the following before April 1, 2018:
--Brief bio/CV (one page or less)
--Description of work you would like to do while in residence (one page or less)
--A work sample of no more than 25 pages.
Please submit the documentation to the following address: writers [at] artomi [dot] org
For any queries, please contact program director DW Gibson at the same address.
