Miquel Martín i Serra (Begur, 1969) is a writer and graduated in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He made a name for himself in the literary world by winning the Joan Fuster Prize for Young Authors in 1994. After a long stay in England, he started publishing short stories, followed by novels, books of legends, literary articles and several essays on literature. His novel The Shortcut won him several prizes in 2021. A scholar of Joan Vinyoli, he has published essays on the poet, and articles and lectures on the work of authors such as Mercè Rodoreda, Gaziel, Joaquim Ruyra and Víctor Català.
