Josep Maria Esquirol

Josep Maria Esquirol (Sant Joan de Mediona, 1963) is a philosopher, essayist and professor of philosophy at the Universitat de Barcelona. He directs the Aporia Research Group, whose field of study is contemporary philosophy and, specifically, the relationship between philosophy and psychiatry. He is the author of several recognised books which shape his philosophical proposal. His essay The Intimate Resistance (2015) won the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize and the National Essay Prize from the Spanish Ministry of Culture. His works have been translated into Italian, Portuguese, English and German.
