The Catalan film Segon Origen will screen at the Montreal International Literary Festival on September 24 as part of the Lisez l'Europe program, which is presenting several film adaptations of major contemporary novels from Europe.
Adapted from Manuel de Pedrolo's novel Mecanoscrit del segon origen, this film by Bigas Luna and Carles Porta takes us on a quest to save humanity after a major astrolomical catastrophy. Only Alba and Dídac have survived, and their love will determine whether a second origin is in fact possible for humanity.
