Pau Faus at Impunging Impunity Film Festival

The sixth edition of the Impunging Impunity Film Festival (IIFF) in New York City will feature the documentary film Ada for Mayor, directed by Pau Faus. In the film, an activist decides to run for mayor in Barcelona. The screening will be followed by a brunch discussion with the director.  




Organized by the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives (ALBA) and housed at the legendary Downtown Community Television Center (DCTV), the Impunging Impunity Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will run from September 22 to 24.

The festival aims to uphold justice, resistance, and equality through documentaries on human rights, Q&A sessions, and talk-backs with activists. The festival features works from throughout the world.

Pau Faus (Barcelona, 1974) is a visual artist and documentary film director who works with conflict and representation. Faus directed the medium-length film Sí se puede. Siete días en PAH Barcelona (2014) and the feature-length documentary Alcaldesa (2016). He also taught architecture at the ETSAV University of Architecture and wrote the books La Ciudad Jubilada and Figueres-París: 5 horas 30 minutos.

ALBA, a non-profit that works to carry out the legacy of the US volunteers who fought fascism in the Spanish Civil War, is committed to using story-telling and primary documents for the promotion of human rights.
