“Rhythm, but melody as well. Fresh creativity, shot through with the finest tradition. Riffs that wrap around you, built on an impeccable base and crowned by a seductive, mysterious voice”. That is the definition of Barbott, a Barcelona group which started up in 2010 with five friends from the city who decided to form an alternative rock band.
During the last week of July, the band will perform in the UK, taking the step onto the international scene. On 25, 29 and 30 they will be giving concerts in London, whilst on 27 they will be performing in Cardiff.
Barbott have been described as “one of the most promising names among the new batch of indie bands” by the legendary festival Primavera Sound. With clear influences from groups such as Arctic Monkeys, Two Door Cinema Club or Tame Impala, in 2013 they recorded their first EP ‘Margarita’ (2013, Sexy Sadie). Their particular mix of indie and rock has taken them to the big venues in Barcelona such as Sala Apolo, Razzmatazz or Sidecar. At the end of 2015 they recorded ‘Curves’ (La Cupula Music), their debut album with the single ‘Cream’.
