In collaboration with the Institut Ramon Llull, the Xunta de Galicia and the Instituto Camões, each year the University of Zadar (Croatia) organizes the Seminar of Ibero-Romance Languages and Cultures, which sets out to raise awareness among the university community of the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Iberian Peninsula. The 11th edition of the seminar has organized, between 8th and 12th May, a series of workshops and conferences on a wide variety of topics, and which will be complemented, at the University of Zadar, with poetry and music recitals.

From 8th to 12th May the University of Zadar will be visited by writers and university lecturers, mainly Portuguese, Spanish, Galician and Catalan, who will try to demonstrate the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Iberian Peninsula to the university community in Zadar.

Representing Catalonia, poets Pau Sif, Jaume Coll Mariné and Maria Cabrera will take part in a recital of Catalan poetry on Monday, 8th May. They will read poems translated into Croatian during the poetry translation seminar that will have been held previously, from 5th to 7th May, on the Croatian island of Pasman. Maria Cabrera will also talk about Catalan phonetics on 9th May. On the same day Enric Blanco from the University of Barcelona will give a speech entitled Biografies immediates (Immediate Biographies), in which he will talk about authors of contemporary Catalan literature such as Francesc Serés or Joan Daniel Bezsonoff.
